The official site of the sport's national governing body, rebuilt with a modern interface and designed around the volume a federation produces: official regulations, championship galleries and a constant flow of announcements. Plus maintenance and hosting for all three of the federation's platforms.
Who the client is and what they wanted
The Romanian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation is the sport's national governing body, affiliated to the IFBB — the international federation present in more than 220 countries. It runs the national championships, manages the squads that represent Romania at European and world level, and accredits coaches and referees.
The website existed, but it looked and behaved like a site from ten years earlier. The federation wanted a modern interface befitting a national institution — and, above all, one where the constantly accumulating content could be found rather than buried.
Because that is the real challenge for a federation: not the number of pages, but the steady flow. Statutes and regulations that get revised, transfer forms, rankings, a statement after every competition, and hundreds of photographs from each championship.
The solution we delivered
We rebuilt the main site with a modern interface, designed around how the federation actually works: it publishes often, publishes a lot, and anyone — athlete, coach, club or journalist — has to find what they came for quickly.
- Official document library — statute, regulations (disciplinary, appeals commission, referees' college, organisation and operation), the competition, transfers and classification rules, the national squad selector's remit. All in an ordered system with direct downloads, which the federation updates itself.
- Competition galleries — hundreds of photographs from national, Balkan, European and world championships, grouped by event and by moment (competition, congress, awards), without the page becoming unwieldy.
- Editorial news flow — statements, Federal Bureau decisions, national squad results, with an announcement bar for what is urgent.
- Custom code — functionality built around the federation's needs, where an off-the-shelf plugin would not do.
- Hosting and ongoing maintenance — for frcf.ro and for the federation's two other platforms: cursuri.frcf.ro, where instructor course enrolments are handled, and ifbbacademy.ro, the international certification platform.
Since 2023 we have kept all three sites updated, fast and secure — with everything that means for an institution that publishes weekly and is watched by the whole of its sport.
