A hospital website deleted through an administrative error, rebuilt from scratch starting from nothing but a database backup — then extended with a legally mandated online appointment system, accessibility features and maintenance with a two-hour response time.
Who the client is and what they wanted
The "Dr. George Trifon" Town Hospital in Năsăud (together with its Integrated Outpatient Clinic) is a public hospital in Bistrița-Năsăud county, Romania.
The starting point was an emergency: the website had been deleted through an administrative error. All that remained was a copy of the database — a single SQL file. Everything had to be rebuilt from there.
On top of that, the law required an online appointment system, compliance with the transparency framework (Law 544/2001 and hospital-specific regulations), and a modern image worthy of a public institution.
The solution we delivered
We rebuilt the website from scratch, recovering the content straight from the remaining SQL file, and brought it back online with a clean, modern identity fit for a public institution.
- Online appointments — we implemented a dedicated plugin (specialty → doctor → time slot, with email confirmation and cancellation) and extended it with custom code to match the hospital's real needs. Beyond the implementation, we handled staff training and the working procedures.
- Accessibility — a dedicated toolbar (text resizing, high/negative contrast, greyscale, readable font, underlined links), so the site is usable by every patient.
- Legal compliance — a transparency structure compliant with Law 544/2001 and hospital-specific regulations: public information, announcements, careers, contact details.
- Maintenance, security and hosting — WordPress security measures, hosting and maintenance with a response time of two hours at most.
The result: patients book their own appointments online, without depending on the phone or the front desk's opening hours, and the hospital once again has a stable, accessible online presence that meets its legal obligations.
